jamestts, yes… that would be great if you want to do that, the only thing to remember (about putting the rapid link) is that you will have to update every couple of days, or you can just use this URL, then you wont have to change it. Its up to you, but thats fine. Thank you.

Worked fine for me, had it updated in about 3 minutes or less including the download from RS. Maybe your file got corrupted in the down load. Check the hash or download again.
vincent, I get around 8000-8500 hits a week and you are the only person to report a error with Update 3917, EVERY release is tested on before release and upload, it sounds to me that the problem is at your end. Due to the fact this has only happened once, I would advise updating with the latest release (just posted)
Everyone make sure you are offline (unplugging your modem or disabling internet connection will suffice) after you ran offline update installer and before clicking on update command in nod32.
Zoner, the problem is that there is a file that comes with EVERY update (on or offline) called update.ver this file tells the updated files at what version your virus Defs are at (for example 3860)if this is missing or curupt you recieve the message, “the installed virus signature is curent”. If you have used my NOD32 Offline update Delete %SystemDrive%\NOD_upd then reboot and use the latest NOD32 Offline update 3922

Also the reason you are being asked for a username and password is because ESS v3 fixed v1.1 has become curupt so its stop working in the background, thus you are asked for the username and password. Click “Free NOD32″ at the top of my site and download the latest NOD32 Smart Security v3.0.684 and install (you will NOT need ESS v3 fixed v1.1, so uninstall this BEFORE installing new version)
I was wondering if someone could help me. Every time I download the files it always works for me. Could someone explain to me how to cause something that is so easy to do mess up so I can have problems too? Would I have to become unfamiliar with my computer,it’s OS, and the software so graciously provided by the author? Would I have to not read the information on this site on how and what to do? Would I have to download the file without reading the information on this site and assume that I am able to install anyone’s SW and know how to use it.
Seems it would be easier to read the info provided here then download and install and to not assume there is a problem with the SW when several thousands of people are having no problems with it.

Could you somehow upload just the current update on another link (example: 3922 to 3931, which will be only 1MB or so) instead of uploading it as a whole pack (xxxx – 3931, which is 25MB)?
The reason im asking this is because me and many people i know still have slow dial up connection, and it takes much money and time to download it.

sylvia, uninstall NOD32 AND fix v1.1 (you could even run a reg cleaner as well) then when re-installing you have to follow the instructions (to the letter) that came with my cracked NOD32 (make sure you re-start your puter manually after install.
I’ve downloaded your 1Mb update pack, but when I installed it, it appeared to be success, but unfortunately the result was not. The databese engine was still like before I used the update pack. Could you help me about this?
When you install that offline update go to advanced setup and click update in the advanced setup list. Check the update server. If your windows is installed on (D:) drive then change server to D:\NOD_upd or so… Also turn off your internet when you are ready to click update virus signature database (unplugging your modem or disabling internet connection will suffice). Also don’t install Temdono’s fix, it seems that his update server is not working anymore. If i think of any new ideas you could try ill let you know…
sylvia, 1st situation, will not work because the patched Dll file requires it be updated ON the internet (at least twice) before you use offline update.
2nd situation
1. 1. I installed ur NOD…
2. It did not ask for restart, so I manually restart. (this is correct, leave and it will update itself by default)
3. “I online update immediately”, no need to update immediately, by default it only takes 60 minutes, (try changinging to 20 mins, if required) and let it update by it’s self
M Medp, you are correct v2.7 (only working on Win 9x) is totally different format. My Offline update is ONLY for v3.0.xxx and v4.0.xxx (any version) and any Edition (EG Home, Buisness, Trial, full Retail, AV or SS and so on…)

1. Some people got confused which to use \ when!
2. It was taking me just to long to go through each and every update to find the files that had been updated, then to check each hash is correct and not corrupt, then to assemble and pack it… my wife and kids nearly forgot about me!

You ask a good question and one i get asked all the time. The Trial of ESET NOD32 v3.0.384 is the same as Retail ESET NOD32 v3.0.384 EXCEPT for 1 thing, with the trial you do not need Authorization to download updates from there server’s (this is done via a server-side check using a username and password database) so no username… no update download. You can look at it like this, the trial is the same as retail, only you dont need a username!

NO there is no different, if it dont work read “Help” section… do you have antispyware (other than in Smartsecurity)as this can stop the registry being written to? (use new help section for reply)

jioman, You misunderstood, when i said that, i was talking about the crack i did for Smart Security v3.0. The Offline update does NOT have to have been conected to the net. Please see the “Help” section as this should help you.

CMMWASDA, to use your old auto update files, you will have to set up the update server to point to the correct folder with the update files in it, or just use NOD32 Offline update ;o)

Nikky, Nothing has changed as regards the App in the last month, if it used to work it still should. Have a look at the Help section or re-install NOD32.

xubuntu FB, Yes thats possible, but it would not only be just the Virus signature database that require update but also also, Update module, Antivirus scanner module, Advanced heuristics module, Archive support module, Cleaner module and the Anti-Stealth support module for AV Edition, so to add Smart Security support only add’s around 5 – 7MB. Also I would have to put out 2 Editions of NOD32 Offline Update and the work involved… it’s just not worth it. I did used to do a update pack (which was just the files that had been updated since last update) but I’m to busy at the moment to keep supported.
pds, There is not one, (unlike some of the other AV vendor’s). The best thing to do is write a program that will download all the files from there offical servers.

updates to your AV software do NOT last for just 1 day, they last as long as there in the AV software, or untill the AV vendor removes them. The reason you have to regularly update is to combate every new virus coming out. (look at it more like “Topping up”)

reignfire, The differentce between 1\eset nod32 antivirus and 2\eset Smartsecurity is that, 1\ is Antivirus and Antispyware and 2\ is Antivirus, Antispyware, Firewall and Antispam. As regards protection, Smartsecurity is better than Antivirus.
ALL NOD32 AV and SS (ALL versions and editions) use the same NOD32 Offline update release!

Hi Sreekumar, YES… you can go back to online updates AFTER using NOD32 offline update. To go back make sure “Choose Automatically” is selected as your server, if you want to know how to do this see “Help” section. Also THIS CONTAINS THE WHOLE DATABASE, from v3.0.621 (first release of version 3) upto the latest release v4.0.424, (somtimes incorrectly called a cumalative update). And it will work on ALL versions and ALL editions (like AV, SmartSecurity, Retail, Trial, Business Editon) also because of great CAB compression before we compile, the App is smaller than downloading just the files on there own!.
bagwel, We could not release everyday even if we wanted to, (limited by releases from ESET, for example on the 24th… 5 days ago, they never released ANYTHING) on average we release around 3-4 times a week (more if required)
FINALLY someone actually made this possible for NOD32! I hated ESET for not supporting offline updates unlike many other AV’s out there. So disappointing since this is one of the fastest, reliable and easy to use antivirus on the market.

NOD32 offline update does not just work for NOD32 v4.0 only. It works on v3.0 and v4.0 all Versions (v3.0.684, v3.0.669, v4.0.417… etc) and all Editions (AV, SmartSecurity, Retail, Trial… etc)

Takeo, In version 4 (depending how your config) AV or SmartSecurity will not allow writing to the registry, (Due to NOD32 Self-Defense)
To Fix:
1. Open NOD32 in Advanced mode (CTRL+M)
2. Then open the Advanced Setup (F5)
3. Make sure “Antivirus and spyware” is selected on the left.
4. Disable “Enable Self-Defense” > run NOD32 Offline update > Enable Self-Defense.
THIS IS ONLY REQUIRED ONCE, (After that you wont have a problem
Hi, is it possible if you could upload your offline update files to Mediafire (since RS does not support multiple/parallel download)? It will be a big help for us since the offline updater is kinda big (in file size terms) and the speed of RS is snail-ish.

Zoner, the problem is that there is a file that comes with EVERY update (on or offline) called update.ver this file tells the updated files at what version your virus Defs are at (for example 3860)if this is missing or curupt you recieve the message, “the installed virus signature is curent”. If you have used my NOD32 Offline update Delete %SystemDrive%\NOD_upd then reboot and use the latest NOD32 Offline update 3922

Also the reason you are being asked for a username and password is because ESS v3 fixed v1.1 has become curupt so its stop working in the background, thus you are asked for the username and password. Click “Free NOD32″ at the top of my site and download the latest NOD32 Smart Security v3.0.684 and install (you will NOT need ESS v3 fixed v1.1, so uninstall this BEFORE installing new version)
I was wondering if someone could help me. Every time I download the files it always works for me. Could someone explain to me how to cause something that is so easy to do mess up so I can have problems too? Would I have to become unfamiliar with my computer,it’s OS, and the software so graciously provided by the author? Would I have to not read the information on this site on how and what to do? Would I have to download the file without reading the information on this site and assume that I am able to install anyone’s SW and know how to use it.
Seems it would be easier to read the info provided here then download and install and to not assume there is a problem with the SW when several thousands of people are having no problems with it.

sylvia, uninstall NOD32 AND fix v1.1 (you could even run a reg cleaner as well) then when re-installing you have to follow the instructions (to the letter) that came with my cracked NOD32 (make sure you re-start your puter manually after install.

Shamx, run laest update, check you have update server to D:/NOD_upd (if D local drive) and update.
When you install that offline update go to advanced setup and click update in the advanced setup list. Check the update server. If your windows is installed on (D:) drive then change server to D:\NOD_upd or so… Also turn off your internet when you are ready to click update virus signature database (unplugging your modem or disabling internet connection will suffice). Also don’t install Temdono’s fix, it seems that his update server is not working anymore. If i think of any new ideas you could try ill let you know…

sylvia, 1st situation, will not work because the patched Dll file requires it be updated ON the internet (at least twice) before you use offline update.
2nd situation
1. 1. I installed ur NOD…
2. It did not ask for restart, so I manually restart. (this is correct, leave and it will update itself by default)
3. “I online update immediately”, no need to update immediately, by default it only takes 60 minutes, (try changinging to 20 mins, if required) and let it update by it’s self

M Medp, you are correct v2.7 (only working on Win 9x) is totally different format. My Offline update is ONLY for v3.0.xxx and v4.0.xxx (any version) and any Edition (EG Home, Buisness, Trial, full Retail, AV or SS and so on…)

1. Some people got confused which to use \ when!
2. It was taking me just to long to go through each and every update to find the files that had been updated, then to check each hash is correct and not corrupt, then to assemble and pack it… my wife and kids nearly forgot about me!

You ask a good question and one i get asked all the time. The Trial of ESET NOD32 v3.0.384 is the same as Retail ESET NOD32 v3.0.384 EXCEPT for 1 thing, with the trial you do not need Authorization to download updates from there server’s (this is done via a server-side check using a username and password database) so no username… no update download. You can look at it like this, the trial is the same as retail, only you dont need a username!

jioman, You misunderstood, when i said that, i was talking about the crack i did for Smart Security v3.0. The Offline update does NOT have to have been conected to the net. Please see the “Help” section as this should help you.

Uninstalled v3 and downloaded v4.0.314 and it took the update. I’ll stick to v4, should be better than v3.

jason, You dont need a username and pass, this is only required when using (non trial) ESET offical servers.
CMMWASDA, to use your old auto update files, you will have to set up the update server to point to the correct folder with the update files in it, or just use NOD32 Offline update ;o)

Nikky, Nothing has changed as regards the App in the last month, if it used to work it still should. Have a look at the Help section or re-install NOD32.

xubuntu FB, Yes thats possible, but it would not only be just the Virus signature database that require update but also also, Update module, Antivirus scanner module, Advanced heuristics module, Archive support module, Cleaner module and the Anti-Stealth support module for AV Edition, so to add Smart Security support only add’s around 5 – 7MB. Also I would have to put out 2 Editions of NOD32 Offline Update and the work involved… it’s just not worth it. I did used to do a update pack (which was just the files that had been updated since last update) but I’m to busy at the moment to keep supported.

updates to your AV software do NOT last for just 1 day, they last as long as there in the AV software, or untill the AV vendor removes them. The reason you have to regularly update is to combate every new virus coming out. (look at it more like “Topping up”)

reignfire, The differentce between 1\eset nod32 antivirus and 2\eset Smartsecurity is that, 1\ is Antivirus and Antispyware and 2\ is Antivirus, Antispyware, Firewall and Antispam. As regards protection, Smartsecurity is better than Antivirus.
ALL NOD32 AV and SS (ALL versions and editions) use the same NOD32 Offline update release!

Hi Sreekumar, YES… you can go back to online updates AFTER using NOD32 offline update. To go back make sure “Choose Automatically” is selected as your server, if you want to know how to do this see “Help” section. Also THIS CONTAINS THE WHOLE DATABASE, from v3.0.621 (first release of version 3) upto the latest release v4.0.424, (somtimes incorrectly called a cumalative update). And it will work on ALL versions and ALL editions (like AV, SmartSecurity, Retail, Trial, Business Editon) also because of great CAB compression before we compile, the App is smaller than downloading just the files on there own!.

bagwel, We could not release everyday even if we wanted to, (limited by releases from ESET, for example on the 24th… 5 days ago, they never released ANYTHING) on average we release around 3-4 times a week (more if required)

NOD32 offline update does not just work for NOD32 v4.0 only. It works on v3.0 and v4.0 all Versions (v3.0.684, v3.0.669, v4.0.417… etc) and all Editions (AV, SmartSecurity, Retail, Trial… etc)

Thanx for the updates. But unfortunately I tried to edit “Update Server”, and add “C:\NOD_upd”, but it doesn’t save those changes… and goes to “Choose Automatically”.

Takeo, In version 4 (depending how your config) AV or SmartSecurity will not allow writing to the registry, (Due to NOD32 Self-Defense)
To Fix:
1. Open NOD32 in Advanced mode (CTRL+M)
2. Then open the Advanced Setup (F5)
3. Make sure “Antivirus and spyware” is selected on the left.
4. Disable “Enable Self-Defense” > run NOD32 Offline update > Enable Self-Defense.
THIS IS ONLY REQUIRED ONCE, (After that you wont have a problem

Hi, is it possible if you could upload your offline update files to Mediafire (since RS does not support multiple/parallel download)? It will be a big help for us since the offline updater is kinda big (in file size terms) and the speed of RS is snail-ish.
